What could be more vital and life giving than knowing, deeply, that God’s story is your story?

For over 160 years The Educational Center, founded in St. Louis, has been committed to fostering spiritual growth, psychological development, personal transformation and social renewal through our research, resources, and publications. And at the core of all our work is story.

When you engage Biblical (and other) stories through literature and poetry, film, video, music and visual art, as well as excellent scholarship, the stories become newly alive, and you begin to make the connections between sacred, archetypal stories and your own. Our resources often ask three questions:

flyingfre“What is happening in the story?”

“How is this story taking place in the world around me?” and

“How is this story MY story?”

Encountering a story in this way calls you into deeper exploration of self.

So, The Educational Center endorses a process, not just a product. Our resources do not provide answers; rather, they create opportunities to engage life’s questions. We believe that by living into the questions, the tensions, and the paradoxes in our lives, we can learn what it means to live authentically.
