Bible Workbench is published by The Educational Center in St. Louis, Missouri, a cooperative network of individuals and groups throughout the continental U.S. and abroad that supports Bible Workbench and Teen Text.

Bible Workbench focuses on one of the appointed scriptures appointed to be read during Sunday worship in churches using the Revised Common Lectionary, Episcopal and Roman Catholic lectionaries as well as several Sundays from “An Uncommon Lectionary” of early church non-canonical texts. Reading between the lines, the biblical stories are explored with questions, scholarly and historical background, as well as parallel readings in contemporary news events and literature.

TeenText, similar to Bible Workbench, provides a lectionary-based process that helps high school youth (9th-12th grades) connect the text on the page with events in their daily lives. Through discussions guided by a series of open-ended, text-related questions, they begin to see the Bible as a vital, dynamic, relevant resource - one that can inform them throughout their lives.
